i used majic loop to make these you could use double pointed needles or straight needles (i have not tried it with straight needles) if you use straight needles you will need to sew up the side seam.
what you will need
100% cotton yarn
size 6 us needles
row counter
stitch marker (if using majic loop or double pointed needles)
darning needle
cast on 42 sts
row 1 and every odd row knit
rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 - *k3, p3, repeat from * around
rows 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24 - *p3, k3, repeat from * around
rows 26, 28 and 30 - *k3, p3, repeat from * around
rows 31, 33, 35 - * k1, k2tog, repeat from * around
rows 32, 34, 36 - (after row 36 you should have 13 stitchs) k around
cut a tail and run through the 13 stitches pull tight and weave away
this fits a 20 oz bottle and a can
