this pattern is very easy and looks nice. i made the bib out of cotton tots for my grandson. i also made a square out of acrylic and it really looks nice. the pattern was designed by geocities.com/mama_bear_007/ and i desgined the bib.

you will need

size 5 us straight needles

2 size 5 us double pointed needles

2 different colors of yarn---your choice

co 34 sts and do the pattern for 60 row

row 61 - k1, k2tog, k1, across

row 62 - knit across

row 63 - k1, k2tog, k1 across

knit 3 sts onto a stitch holder bind off until there are 3 sts left and knit them onto the double pointed needle. knit an i cord for 10 inches. (if you want you can also just knit on the straight needles for 10 inces) bind off. sew away ends

knit the 3 sts on the stitch holder onto the needles and knit for 10 inches just like the last one bind off and sew away the ends

hope everyone had a nice holiday season. everyone here has been sick. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

slippers

here is a pattern that was taught to me by my grandmother. they are very easy to make

Steph's Easy Slippers (copyright)
size 7 needles
two different colors (scraps works wonderful)
cast on 60 (65) sts
knit row 1 (the heal)
(at the beginning of each row twist the yarn)
row 1 - 6 k 5, change colors k5, change colors k5 across
row 7- 12 using opposite color k 5, change colors k 5, change colors k 5
do this until there are 10 (11) squares.
knit 2 together across
knit 2 together across
cut off a long tail take sts off needle onto tail, then run throught the sts
again, pull tight and sew up toe, then sew up 5 (6) squares, weave in end and
cut off. sew up the heal.
when knitting with the wrong side facing you make sure that you put the yarn you
are not knitting with in the front then when you go to knit with it again just
pull it across and put the yarn in the back and knit. that gives it a very
think inside.
these are very easy and a great way to use up scraps. i have people that only
want them out of scraps. they like them mixed matched.
