here is a pattern that was taught to me by my grandmother. they are very easy to make
Steph's Easy Slippers (copyright)
size 7 needles
two different colors (scraps works wonderful)
cast on 60 (65) sts
knit row 1 (the heal)
(at the beginning of each row twist the yarn)
row 1 - 6 k 5, change colors k5, change colors k5 across
row 7- 12 using opposite color k 5, change colors k 5, change colors k 5
do this until there are 10 (11) squares.
knit 2 together across
knit 2 together across
cut off a long tail take sts off needle onto tail, then run throught the sts
again, pull tight and sew up toe, then sew up 5 (6) squares, weave in end and
cut off. sew up the heal.
when knitting with the wrong side facing you make sure that you put the yarn you
are not knitting with in the front then when you go to knit with it again just
pull it across and put the yarn in the back and knit. that gives it a very
think inside.
these are very easy and a great way to use up scraps. i have people that only
want them out of scraps. they like them mixed matched.
